For each market, each index, each stock there is always a trend. A stock is always going up, or going down, or simply consolidating and going sideways. How you look at a stock or an index is across time frames. There are many time frames one can look at.

Our emphasis is on intermediate term trades and to do that it is important that we understand what the trends are for each of the major indexes and across the various time frames. We share that with you here.

Market internals generally refers to the internal structure of the stock market. How many new highs are there versus new lows? What is the relationship of the volume associated with shares that are rising in price compared to those falling? From this basic data, derivitive measures can be constructed to shed light on possible furture price direction.

We gauge sentiment primarily through Investors Intelligence surveys and CBOE put/call ratios. Those data points are contained in this section and updated nightly.

Market Breadth indicators examine the relationship between advancing issues as compared to declining issues. There are a number of differing methods to do this. We have chosen to examine it in the following way:
